A location bathed in history, the beloved 3eme arrondissement is where the Marais unfolds across winding cobblestone alleys, and the gentle hum of locals and tourists blend into a symphony of discovery. Each corner unveils a fine balance of timeless elegance and modernity. And at the heart, Experimental Marais embraces the Marais’ storied past, each chapter woven with touches of its future.
Inside, explore 43 rooms reimagined by Tristan Auer, each paying homage to the area’s history, an air of ecclesiastical touches, a monastic universe reaching spectacular heights. The design, as told through the eyes of an elusive traveller, one step ahead, leaving his souvenirs and trinkets collected from a life well-travelled. A restaurant beckons, telling tales of New York intertwined with French tradition. The American Bar on the ground floor opens for cocktail soaked nights and clandestine convrsation, reminiscent of New York’s heady nightlife. A veritable escape for all the senses.
Decadent nights make way for wellness, a temple for the soul behind our doors. A spa with bespoke treatments, from rejuvenating facials to restorative massages. And of course, the cherry on top. A Roman bath tucked away, the perfect escape from the heaving streets of Paris. A morning dip, a few laps to end the day.

At the hands of interior architect Tristan Auer, the 43 bedrooms and suites offer a subtle nod to sacred spaces, the coexistence of the past and future, coming together in a seamless dance of Parisian elegance.

Temple & Chapon
A celebration of the grand dining rooms of Paris, with a New York state of mind. An old school brasserie with Chef Mélanie Serre at the helm, paying homage to the classic chop house. The room unfolds, lit by monumental chandeliers and the twinkle of candlelight. Each table, draped in white linen and benches in suede, an invitation to linger over lunch, to stay for a nightcap after dinner.

American Bar
A journey up an imposing staircase, a peek into a cocktail bar reminiscent of New York’s iconic haunts. The American Bar is an escape in the heart of Paris, a cocktail haven inspired by our favourite bars across Manhattan, found right in the centre of Le Marais. A bold, yet cosy space where dark hues are juxtaposed against grand mirrors and the echo of ice against tin shakers are a symphonic reminder of the night ahead.
The Spa at
Experimental Marais
A holistic hideaway in the heart of Le Marais, a spa tucked away from the bustling streets of Le Marais. Each treatment is bespoke, using products by Susanne Kaufmann, a true tonic for tired souls. A chance to get lost in self-care, where hours pass between the journey from treatments and hammam to the indoor Roman bath. An invigorating experience, found hidden away right in the heart of Paris.

Through our doors
A voyage unfolds, each step a revelation of far flung lands retold by designer Tristan Auer. Bathed in the neighbourhood’s rich ecclesiastical heritage and moved by the lore of long lost travellers, Auer conjured up the fictious story of an extraordinary man, an aura just out of reach yet present in spirit. Auer’s vision is realised as a nod to mid-century New York and a nuance of gothic mystery, where darker tones, mirrors and intimate spaces are waiting to be discovered. An object found around every turn, a souvenir to tell a story, a piece of art hung taken from the collection of our elusive explorer.

A journey that started in Paris, in the summer of 2007. A bar on a quiet street, the start of Paris’ cocktail renaissance. As the years went on, new chapters turned, from new cities, to restaurants and finally hotels. Today, Experimental Group can be found across Paris, London, New York, Venice, Verbier, Val d’Isere, Ibiza, Menorca and out in the British countryside. Each location inspired by the world around it.
